Yes, this is a good layout. The butterfly makes it look professional, it reminds me of splash screens from vendors like Adobe. I like the way its antennas cross the border of the picture. Other than that the layout doesn't invoke any impressions in me. It looks clean, simple and stylish, like it should be. Perhaps the yellowish green could be a bit darker.
I feel there's something icky about the placement of the navbar, it's easy to find and use, but somehow it looks like it has just been stamped over the image and it's too dark and "heavy" due to its color. I think you should try to integrate it better with the logo image, since it's effectively placed on top of it. Alternatively it could be thinner, of different color and placed under the logo.
What does a butterfly have to do with coffee? It really does add a touch of visual pleasure to the site, seeing as the rest is basically text, but I'd like an explanation for why a butterfly (nothing personal against the butterfly, of course. please let it know that... i don't mean harm).
Other than that it's a very nice design. Simplistic, yet not boring. Great work!
Thanks a lot, glad you like it.
Actually I don't know how coffee and butterflies go together. I just found an image of a butterfly I liked and added some coffee beans, no real correlation
Now it's time for August 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
Here's the Menu per Category :
Digital Paintings & Drawings | Mixed Media | PhotoManipulations | 3-Dimensional | Vector & Vexels | Photography | Traditional Paintings & Drawings | Artisan Crafts

The navbar needs work, it does look too heavy now, I didn't notice it earlier. I'll make it thinner.
